Okay, as a resident of Maryland as well of a supporter of gay rights (obviously), I am very very thrilled. Of course, it was a very close vote and there are way too many citizens who are, for some stupid reason, against this and will continue to fight. A petition to overturn this bill is in the works and if 55,000 signatures are received, then the bill will be posted on the 2012 ballot. This is where it found itself last year, and unfortunately Marylander’s (again by a close vote) voted against the bill. I just want to take a moment and say I fucking hate people. LET GAY PEOPLE GET MARRIED. JUST BECAUSE SOMEONE LIKES PEOPLE WITH THE SAME HOOHAH AS THEM DOESN’T MEAN THEY SHOULDN’T BE ABLE TO GET MARRIED.
